Mercedes Terrell Poster Shoot Video

Check out this behind the scenes video of my Quad Magazine Poster shoot with Model Mercedes Terrell and our Yamaha Rhino. The video was shot with my Sony PDX-10 special Thanks to Roberto R. for filming and editing for me that day. Lighting used Speedotron and Elinchrom. Camera used Nikon with a 70-200 nikkor lens.

Caleb Moore Wins Bronze Medal at Winter X-Games

I know I didn’t really have anything to do with Caleb Killing it at this years Winter X-games, the boy is talented. However I sure helped a pinch with his program from weeding his sleds graphics to testing all the great Rock Star and Perky Jerky Products that was delivered to our trailer over the weekend. hahahaha Good Times.

Qflash Violently Attacked by Racer in World ATV MX Series

I was shooting round 6 of the DWT World ATV MX Series when a racer veered off course straight into a bush and destroyed my beloved iNduro A114 tripod. I wanted to salvage her but she lost a limb at the joint which couldn’t be fixed not to mention the other two legs where severely damaged. The battery pack managed to survive unharmed which was good that thing cost over $500. however the qflash was damaged slightly. The mount on the bottom is busted up and out of place I’ll survive. Better my equipment getting hit then me.

Arctic Cat 2010 Fall Intro

Press intro shoot for Arctic Cat. Greatest week ever! Moab, Utah is an Epic place to shoot if you haven’t been before find some time and go. Just don’t fly directly into Moab. The small airport Sucks and really likes to cancel on flights. Grand Junction is your best bet.

I spent the week in Moab with Arctic Cat and had the opportunity to shoot with 3 groups of Editors from both the ATV and Snowmobile industries. I can’t wait to see all the articles that come out from this event in the next couple weeks.

I packed some equipment for this trip, making sure I had everything covered for the editors coming up. Included was my Nikon D3 body and D2x. 300mm 70-200, 24-85 and 17-30 lenses I also brought my fisheye but didn’t get to put her to use. Better luck next trip buddy…

The above photo was shot with my Nikkor 70-200 mounted on my Nikon d3. I used two qflashes triggered by my pocket wizards.

For lighting on this trip I brought two Elinchrom Ranger packs and heads and also three quantum qflashes. I mostly stuck with using the qflashes because they where quick and easy to setup and move to a new location easily. However I did create some epic shots with my Elinchrom’s one of which i put in my Calendar of Editor Brad Howe crawling down a gnarly rock face.

The above shot was taken with my Nikon D3 mounted to my 300mm f2.8 lens.

Here are some shots from the Big Gun/Streamline Catalog shoot I did the other week.

Everything was shot with my Nikon D3 Camera and a Nikkor 24-85mm f2.8-4.0 lens. Pocket wizards wirelessly triggered my lighting which was three Speedotron blackline heads connected to a single 4800 pack. You can kind of see it hidden under my saw horse table setup. I had the power pack turned up almost full power the entire time so I could maximize depth of field everything looked great I think my average f stop for this shoot was f22 + at 160th of a second.

Less then a week before the Winter X-Games was to start I got the call and was booked to shoot the event. Cold weather loves to drain batteries so I pulled out all the equipment and prepped for the battery hungry weather. Sorry the picture quality isn’t the greatest I shot this with my camera phone.
